Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural Education

'Be the change you want to see in the world.' Mahatma Gandhi

At Kingston Park, we understand the importance of preparing children for life after primary school. We aim to help pupils develop themselves as whole, rounded individuals who are capable and enthusiastic about making a positive contribution to their society. The Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural education of our children is encouraged and supported through a broad and balanced curriculum that provides children with a range of opportunities to explore the world around them, their place in it and realise the value and potential of themselves as individuals.

At Kingston Park we realise that for children to reach their full potential, they need the chance to learn through discovery. We encourage and support them to explore their beliefs and experiences. As a culturally diverse setting, Kingston Park Primary School provides children with the opportunity to learn about and respect the faiths, feelings and values of others, therefore learning about their peers and the world around them in an imaginative and creative way.

Children are encouraged and taught to take responsibility for their own actions and to understand consequences. Our children recognise right and wrong, and can therefore make informed and responsible decisions for themselves. They are challenged to understand the views of others and offer reasoned opinions, providing them with the tools to be able to resolve conflict and appreciate diversity.

We provide children with opportunities contribute to their local community, developing their social skills, cultural understanding and confidence as a result.

The Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education of pupils is considered and nurtured across the curriculum at Kingston Park Primary School, enabling our children to develop themselves as a whole, rounded individual, recognising their place in society and the valuable contribution they can make to the world around them.
