What a fantastic year we have had for sport!
In the swimming gala we had some excellent results with teams bringing home a host of medals. We had several Gold medals including the boy’s butterfly won by J.Callander, girl’s butterfly won by M.Clarke, A.Huckins won the backstroke. N.Galloway was narrowly pipped into second place in the backstroke. The Year 5/6 boys, 5/6 girls and 3/4 girls picked up team silver medals with the Year 3/4 boys picking up bronze overall.
Our Year 3/4 football team managed to beat the other teams in our trust to win our inter-trust football competition. Our Year 6 rugby children attended our local trust competition and returned victorious. Following this up, our Year 4 children attended a Rugby competition at Newcastle Falcons and again came home with first prize.
At the Newcastle Schools 500 our Year 3/4 football team ended up runners up out of an impressive 18 teams.
In athletics F.Elliott beat off 80+ runners to win the Year 2 girls’ race and W.Simmonds finished a superb second out of the 80+ boy competitors. B.Makki finished a superb third in the year 6 girls race. The year 3-4 boys’ team took home gold in the team race and the Year 5-6 boys finished a respectable third.
In badminton Kingston Park managed an excellent silver medal in the team competition. Last but not least our Year 4-5 football team finished runners up in the final inter-trust competition of the year. Well done to all of those involved.
